JAMAIS A LA SENEGALAISE

Pour justifier la mauvaise gouvernance dans son pays le Camerounais moyen cite sans hésitation aucune les mauvais exemples des autres pays. Le contraire n’est pas sa tasse du café. Pourtant, le patriotisme exige la préférance du positif au  détriment du négatif.

Il est d’actualité chez beaucoup de Camerounais de parler de la présidentielle Senegalaise et du prèsident sortant: Mr Abdoulaye Wade. Comme Mr Biya, Mr Abdoulaye Wade a modifié la constitution du Senegal pour pouvoir briguer un troisième mandat . Comme Mr Biya, il s’est porté candidat effectivement. Mais comme le Senegal ne se dispose essentiellement que d’une monoculture, les arachides en l’occurrence, celui-ci n’a pas pû se faire attribuer 19,3 milliards pour l’achat des voix contre 30 millions pour chacun de ses adversaires. Par conséquent, le déséquilibre, paraît-il, entre les deux camps au Senegal n’était pas trop creux.

Fidèle à la manière Camerounaise, le Camerounais a bien vite oublié que l’opposition au Senegal n’a pas présenté un candidat unique. La victoire de l’opposition est dû plutôt au second tour. Tel n’est guère le cas du Cameroun. Nos députés dans leur égoisme ne songent jamais au bien-être du peuple, moins encore à l‘intérêt national. Dès qu’un projet de loi leur est bénéfique, la majorité automatique du RDPC est la règle d’or! Peu importe que ledit projet soit même anti-constitutionnel! La  pensée est paralysante et contagieuse: chacun pour soi-meme! Du surcroît, le Cameroun  à leur égard n’est qu’existentiel!

Personne n’est étrangère au fait qu’au Cameroun, le toutpuissant MINATD annéantit tout élément de justice qui échappe à l’offensive des députés. Mais voyons! Les résultats de Yaounde ne sont-ils pas toujours proclammés à la derniere minute; bien après ceux des coins les plus reculés du pays? Mais au Senegal, au contraire, les premiers résultats proclammés étaient bel et bien ceux de Dakar. Constatant qu’il n’avait obtenu que 540 voix contre 2.809 pour son adversaire, Mr. Wade dans une honnêteté exemplaire s’est refusé de se livrer à la fraude notoire acquise dans un commandement satanique Camerounais: « Moi je veux gagner les elections!». Concrêtement, il a vite concédé la défaite évitant ainsi des débordements possibles de la part de ses fanatics; tout cela en faveur d’une transition paisible pour l’amour du pays – dit patriotisme.

Nul n’ignore qu’un chef d’état cédible et véritablement pariotique ne perd jamais de vue la nécéssité impérative de veiller à la tansition paisible. Malheusement, l’état des choses relatif à la succession à la tête de l’état Camerounais est très flou at confus aujourd’hui. Evidemment, aucun Camerounais honnête ne s’épargne dès lors l’appréhension qu’au coucher du soleil sur son pays, dieu seul sait quand, rien qu’au sein du RDPC, la multiplicité de candidatures à la magistrature suprême n’augurera aucunement bien pour la stabilité du pays.

Question donc à qui de droit: à quoi bon se dire «grand vaînqueur» à jamais, et détruire les acquis concrêts ou fictifs en fin de compte?

SENEGAL TANTALIZES

 The ordinary Cameroonian often, almost thoughtlessly, cites negative foreign examples to justify bad governance in his own country. The contrary hardly ever is his cup of tea. Yet is it but patriotic to copy but the good examples!

      Many today are Cameroonians commenting on the recent Senegalese presidential election and the incumbent president: Mr. Abdoulaye Wade. Like Mr. Biya, Mr. abdoulaye Wade amended the constitution in order to go in for a third term. Like Mr. Biya, he actually contested the election. But handicapped by Senegal’s monoculture – it produces essentially groundnuts – Mr. Abdoulaye may not have had 19.3 billions from the State budget as against 30 million for each of his adversaries to be able to buy votes à la Cameroonaise. The disequilibrium between him and the opposition in Senegal was therefore apparently insignificant.

      Faithful to the Cameroonian way of life, Cameroonians are oblivious of the fact that the Senegalese opposition did not present a single candidate. The victory of the opposition is owing to a two-round election. Ours by contrast is a single round as our parliamentarians are too egocentric ever to conduct themselves in the interest of the people, let alone in the interest of the nation. As a matter of fact, every Bill that favours our parliamentarians is always infallibly sanctioned by the CPDM automatic majority. It makes little difference that the Bill is unconstitutional. Their maxim is hypnotic and contagious: everyone for themselves! It is as if Cameroon is now and now only!

      A well-known fact it is that the almighty MINATD completely annihilates any element of justice that eludes parliamentary onslaught. The facts are most palpable: are not the results of Yaounde only proclaimed at the tail end; much later than results from the remotest and most difficult corner of Cameroon? But in the case of Senegal, the first results proclaimed were those of Dakar. And on seeing that he had just 540 votes as against 2.809 for his adversary, Mr. Wade, in exemplary honesty, declined to copy the notorious Cameroonian fraudulent satanic order: “All I want is victory”. Nor did Mr. Wade stop there. Concretely, he went on to concede defeat in a bid to forestall any excesses from fanatical supporters. All this he did in the name of peaceful transition and for the love of country – patriotism! 

      No-one is unaware that a credible and truly patriotic leader never loses sight of the indispensable need to toil for a peaceful transition. Unfortunately, the state of affairs relative to succession at the presidential level in Cameroon today is most uncertain. Hardly a Cameroonian there is without apprehension that, upon the exit of Mr. Biya, the multitude of presidential candidates within the CPDM alone will definitely not augur well for the stability of the fatherland.

      The impersonal question then is: why pride oneself with being the “grand vaînqueur” all the time if, upon one’s exit, one’s achievements, real or fictitious, will fall in ruin after all?
